Joey Karpowicz is the bassist and backing vocalist for the thrash metal quartet Hatchet and the heavy metal band Cloven. He started his musical journey at the age of 13 picking up his first bass at Primitive Sound guitars in Burbank, California. It wasn’t long before he started playing along to tracks by Journey, Ratt, Dio, Dokken, and many more. But as his love for music grew stronger he felt the need to play faster and more aggressive styles of music. Thrash was the perfect fit for this kid with a need for speed. Growing up in the suburbs of Hollywood, California, he found his calling with inspiration by bands such as Rattlehead, Hexen, and Desecrate. Always wanting to travel, he was very adamant in finding a band he could do that with. After being in opening bands at the Whiskey a Go Go, he found Hatchet, the band he was able to accomplish his dream of touring the states and out of the country with!
“After playing with Tsunami Cables I knew it was right for me. Being very precise with my sound, I didn’t want a cheap run-of-the-mill cable that can alter my tone. I wanted something that can stand the test of time. Being durable and classy, Tsunami Cables was that for me and more.”
