Born and raised in Northern Minnesota, Alec was bit by the rock n roll bug at an early age while listening to Kiss and falling in love with their image and music. After his family relocated to the Philadelphia area, Alec was gifted a guitar by his parents at age 14.

After a years worth of lessons at his local music store, Alec continued to develop his skills by ear, listening to records and cassette tapes and playing it back.

Alec continued to play throughout high school. When he relocated to New Jersey, he joined a local band called China White. After three years of consistent gigging, the band released a 6 song EP to some minor success. Not long after the EP’s release, Alec relocated again and moved to Southern California with his wife and children.

Though he continued to pursue his musical interests while in California, his attention turned to raising his family and developing career in the construction industry.

15 years later, after 5 more relocations and 3 grown kids, Alec and his wife Lisa found themselves living in Escondido, CA.

Living so close to San Diego presented new musical opportunities and he immediately began reaching out to local bands for auditions. He was fortunate to stumbled upon a band called Soundslave — a tribute to Soundgarden and Audioslave. After the audition, Alec was offered the position of second guitarist. In addition to joining Soundslave, he also joined the Fallbrook based rock cover band Twist of Fate. Most recently, Alec has teamed up with local San Diego Musicians to form a new band tributing the music of the Deftones. The band is to be called Digital Bath - A Deftones Tribute.

Throughout 2018, Soundslave performed in nearly all of San Diego’s major venues including, Brick by Brick, The Music Box, and the House of Blues. Soundslave will continue to tour in 2019, with a performance already scheduled for the main stage at the San Diego County Fair. Twist of Fate continues to work, playing at local wineries in the Temecula area, which has generated great reviews from owners and fans.

Alec continues to network and grow in the local Southern California music scene and continues to grow in his experience. “I am very fortunate that, at the age of 50, I am able to solely focus on writing and playing music.”
