Alex Pickard

A

In 1991 Alex Pickard was born in Syracuse, New York. His father was a machine salesman, and his mother was a teacher. After living in several different neighborhoods on the east coast Alex’s family decided to leave the bitter cold winters of New York behind in exchange for the warm blue skies of sunny California. In 2001, when Alex was 11 years old, his grandmother gifted him his very first bass guitar. His father took the time to show him his first riff, Smoke on the Water, and ever since that fateful day he developed a musical addiction that consumed his life.
After starting his metal band Monarch in 2008, Alex knew his destiny was to dominate the bass and to share heavy metal music with the masses. Later on in his teens, Alex knew right away he had to make it in the music industry one way or another. Alex’s endless passion and desire had brought him to venues throughout Southern California such as, The Viper Room, Brick by Brick, Queen Bees, and many more. He has opened and headlined for bands such as Warbringer and Nihilist in popular establishments all over San Diego County. In 2019 Monarch won the acclaimed Wacken Metal Battle that takes place in the united states and with over 100 bands nation wide competeing every year. Alex dedicates countless hours to writing songs and recording heavy metal music in his spare time. Alex plans to continue his musical career wherever it takes him.
Alex also plays in world touring acts with CAGE, and The Three Tremors.
