"Seattle native Michael Anthony is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist of both the melodic death metal band Blood and Thunder and death metal band Void Dancer. Having grown up in the pacific northwest, Michael grew up around the great talent that was coming out of the region. Guitarists such as Jeff Loomis of the band Nevermore and guitarist Chris DeGarmo of Queensryche were both who gave him the desire and drive to be like his local heroes.

Blood and Thunder was formed in rainy Seattle in late 2008. Their sound is one that, at various moments, conjure memories of Children of Bodom, Wintersun, Amon Amarth, and The Black Dahlia Murder. Combining symphonic, cinematic sounds, guitar and keyboard technicality, dark, memorable melodies, and a dose of venomous aggression, Blood and Thunder has a sound that is truly unique. Each song is a journey of epic proportions with sweeping, dynamic arrangements and emotional intensity.

The band has released two full length albums – Dawning of the Ancients (2011), and A Reality in Ruins (2013). The former has a sound that is raw and unpretentious, but does not hide the band's impressive songwriting sophistication and formidable instrumental prowess. The latter is a cohesive, yet wide ranging and complex work that combines catchy melodic hooks with a fearsome rhythmic assault.

After a two year hiatus, the band reformed with a new lineup and has pushed even harder to hone their craft. As a milestone to represent this new era, they released their latest EP – The Necromancer’s Cantos – in 2018. Already hard at work on another full length album, Blood and Thunder’s story is far from over".
