Nate Light is a professional upright and electric bassist and music professor, based in Los Angeles, CA. He's known as one of a handful of working bassists in town who can truly cover any gig on either bass; whether he's speed-picking his way through punk rock tunes, laying it down in an acoustic jazz trio, or sawing away on low notes in an orchestra, Nate is right at home.

Nate is currently the touring bassist with recording artist, television actor, and broadway star, Matthew Morrison, best known for his leading role on the FOX television series Glee

Previous performing and recording credits include Save Ferris, The English Beat, Das Klown, Hed P.E., Culture Abuse, Michael “Miguel” Happoldt (Sublime/LBDAS), Ikey Owens, Kenny G, The Fenians, Free Flight, J.R. Rotem, Bleu, Mike Garson, Bob Mintzer, Alan Pasqua, Peter Erskine, Debbie Gibson, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, Kotomi, Philieano, Andrea Marcovicci, The Janks, Compress Collide, and Rose’s Pawn Shop, among others. He has performed live on national television shows including The Tonight Show, The Today Show, The View, The Talk, and Good Morning America, and appears as the bass player on the Netflix Series, Gilmore Girls: A Day in the Life.

In addition to his busy performing schedule, Nate is currently an Associate Professor of music at Los Angeles City College, where he teaches courses in music business, music technology, and music history, as well as applied bass lessons.
