Nicholas Hughes is the longtime bassist for Melodic Death Metal band Blood and Thunder, hailing from Arlington Washington.

Nick’s interest in bass started off with the iconic Gene Simmons of Kiss, at the early age of 11 years old. Like many other aspiring metal bassists, he found more and more interest over the years with bassists like Cliff Burton, Lemmy Kilmister, Les Claypool, Geddy Lee, and many others.

As he became of age and was ready to hit the burgeoning metal scene around the greater Seattle areas, he found a home with a local drummer Ryan Yancey, in the melodic death metal band Blood and Thunder.

Its with this band that Nick has found his true calling in music. To be apart of something truly unique within their own music community. Since 2009, Blood and Thunder have opened for countless national acts including Fleshgod Apocalypse, Mors Principium Est, Carach Angren, Aenimus, The Faceless, Arkona, Decapitated, Decrepit Birth, and so many more. Playing with such big acts from all around the world have opened his eyes to the world of professionalism in the metal world. This is why Nick has come into a profound love for Dingwall basses paired with the amazing quality of Tsunami cables. “The combination of the two are absolutely unbeatable. Like they were meant to be paired together.”

Blood and Thunder are busier than ever now in 2019, with a new album in the works and content being pushed out for the viewing pleasure of the awaiting metalheads in the greater Pacific Northwest, keep an eye out for Nick and his collection of Tsunami cables!
