Rachel Solis is a solid music enthusiast/professional Bassist of 15 years who was born in East Los Angeles and raised in Buena Park. Her musical inclination began at the early age of 6 when she picked up her first instrument being an ‘Accordion’, and a few years later, took part in her Elementary School Choir. She grew up in a household where music was a mutual love shared among her and her family members. Surrounded by a medley of genres, her parents played a huge part in contributing to her vast palette of music. She was brought up with genres such as heavy metal, romanticas, 50’s rock, oldies, and much more.
In high school, Rachel was mistakenly placed in a Marching Band ‘Color Guard’ class. Being as that was out of her element, she tried to quit the course. The marching band instructor suggested that she join the instrumental aspect of marching band, and offered to teach her how to play an instrument. Unbeknownst to her at the time, that one class placement mistake would open the door to her musical involvements from then on. After graduation, she began her studies at East Los Angeles College and joined the Jazz band, Marching Band and Concert band. Throughout the course of her musical endeavors, she learned how to play Bass Guitar, Trombone and Baritone.
In the summer of 2009, she was encouraged by her friends to join the Death Metal band Harlequin as a bass player, and so began another musical journey for Rachel. With Harlequin, she has written 1 EP and a full album. She has also played numerous shows, festivals and tours with the group, and is currently active in the band’s progression.
Rachel is also currently active in 2 other musical projects such as “Fallen Angel” & the Argentinian Death Metal Band “Profanacion. With Profanacion, Rachel as toured in Argentina, and is currently making plans for more domestic/international tours with her projects.
