Daniel Nickels
Daniel Nickels is an Americana singer-songwriter and entertainer based out of Talent, Oregon. His journey with music began during childhood with watching his father singing and playing guitar by fireside while camping as a kid. This gave him the inspiration to begin writing his own songs, honing his craft and beginning his career as a musician. Daniel’s songwriting career took off when he was mentored under the same songwriting instructor as Katy Perry.
Daniel’s ability to play a range of instruments including acoustic guitar, piano, ukulele, and harmonica enables him to combine instrumentals with heartfelt vocals. When paired with his original lyrics he is able to produce music that evokes strong emotions and vivid imagery with his listeners. He applies the same focus and care to songs that he covers as well. Inspired by musicians such as Ryan Adams, and John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jason Isbell and Zach Brown Band his music takes on similar qualities of these artists.
Music deeply resonates with Daniel while he is writing, composing and performing. The magical quality that music has and his passion for his art is displayed within his songs. For him, music is not only a way to create enjoyment, but a way to give back to others as well through his involvement with charitable organizations. His song “The Answer” was written to assist the Duke Cancer Institute raise awareness of the impacts of breast cancer and raise funds for breast cancer research. His song “Get There Together” was utilized on local news to commemorate and remember the impact to the SW Oregon community from the Alameda fires.
Whether performing on stage for a large audience with his band to playing for more intimate settings, Daniel’s heart and soul is always on full display to his audience.
