Defy The Tyrants

From San Diego, Ca, Defy The Tyrants is a seven string, groove metal machine that blends melodic, anthemic choruses with hard hitting chugs and in your face lyrics about politics, religion, and other heavy handed subjects.
Not afraid to branch out from the restraints that the current metal climate has been guilty of, Defy The Tyrants put just as much energy into their songwriting as they do their live performances.

Featuring former members of Thirty 30, Draind, and Within The Swarm. Defy The Tyrants have developed a sound that is heavy yet inspired. The sound of Defy can be described as a blend of Djent, Nu-Metal, Death Metal, and Metalcore. Tracks such as "Disposition" and "Battlefront" showcase the band's love of Lamb of God while the track "Oceans (Swept Away The Carrion)" is a solid, mid tempo performance in the vein of After The Burial. "We Are Sisyphus" (the first single from Defy The Tyrants) directs the band into territory all in its own, applying neck breaking beats with high pitched screams, courtesy of vocalist Chris Maddox.

With 2017 behind them, Defy The Tyrants is now gearing for a big year in 2018. The band released two new singles, “Dominate To Desecrate” and “To The Guillotine”. Followed by a new Ep to be released soon after. Defy is also planning multiple shows outside of their hometown of San Diego, and plan on visiting Arizona, Nevada, Northern California, and more.
