Joshua Van Ness

Singer/Song writer, guitarist, drummer, Joshua Van Ness, is both the working man's musician available for nearly all types of events & recording sessions and a true indie spirit, constantly pushing for the next creative level. His voice has a soulful, raspy quality. Behind the drums, Joshua’s feel echoes of the classics from decades ago, yet is driven by a desire to stay ahead of the trends. When on guitar, Van Ness employs a song first mentality, fortified by a strong sense of rhythm.

Joshua has been on bills supporting The Revivalists, Ben Folds, Gavin Degraw, King’s X, The Motels, The Suburbs, The Buckinghams, Trigger Hippy and many others. He has performed at legendary venues like The Stone Pony, Starland Ballroom, House of Independents, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Whiskey A Go-GO, House Of Blues Anaheim, Abby Road on The River, The Strand Theater, East Coast Music Conference and The Soulsational Festival.

Currently, Joshua performs fronting his own band or as a solo/acoustic act. He also plays drums with The Wag and Telegraph Hill recording artist Natalie Farrell as well as sitting in with bands like Lost Romance, Katherine Quintana and The Strazzacasters. Joshua is the musical director for the “How it Ends” Podcast and works regularly as a session drummer.
